Homestay with a family on a small farm near brazilian border

Arriving in Santa Cruz de la Sierra / Bolivia with a bus from Trinidad at 6:30 AM - not knowing if we should enter the huge, loud and vivid city - we decided having a calm, slowly and unspectecular trip for another 2 weeks to the jesuitic missiones in the east of bolivia.

So, we decided to go anti-clockwise and our first stop was San Jose:

After this heading north to San Igancio de la Velasco seeing the other Churches and cities in the area. Here the Missiones in San Miguel:

 San Ignacio de la Velasco:

We were really lucky talking to Eduardo in the Tourist Office in San Ignacio:
He told us of the possibility of staying at a family near the brazilian border and horseback - riding for a day to Laguna Marfil.

Eduardo told us that there is no other possibility to contact Glady and Cubertino, the owner of the farm, then sending a message over the local radio station - the people in the province will listen to it everyday between 6 and 8 to get messages from family and others. So we started to the office of the station and told them they should broadcast our desire.
Busses to the comunidad San Lorencito, with 80 families one of the largest in the area, left twice a week and so one day after our message we left for the unknown.
Six hours on the bus through varying jungle with stops at the entrances of the villages and estancias later we arrived at our destination.
The rest of our journey, Cubertino took us with his Moto and after putting our tent we could strengthen ourselfs with a delicous local soup with vegetables and rice.

The next day, after breakfast we started our trip to the laguna Marfil.
